Special, sacred, holy and set apart is God. No one set Him apart. He just is (from the beginning and always, continuously and ever will be) holy.

Because God is not contained by time, God is ever present, (Ps. 46:1) and God is ever near us (Jer. 23:23).
“Our Father who is in heaven[i]….” is what Jesus taught us to pray. We might be tempted to picture God in the clouds, but the popular idea of God in the clouds is not at all accurate. God the Father is outside of time and space. Time, space and the Universe in which we live are contained and sustained by God. They emanated from God; they do not contain God. Knowledge of God comes from the willingness to do God’s will.
“If anyone is willing[i] to do His will, he will know[ii] of the teaching, whether it is of God….” (John 7:17)
Jesus said these words in response to people who questioned what he was saying because he was uneducated. (John 7:15) Jesus did not have the credentials or the experience people thought he should have. How ironic! Continue reading “Be Willing to Know God”
It is true that a higher percentage of “smart” people are not believers compared to people of lesser intelligence. The difference, though, has nothing to do with intelligence.
“Not many wise….” (1 Cor. 1:26) Paul observed that not many wise people (as viewed from the perspective of society) were followers of Jesus Christ in his day. Nothing much has changed since then. So, here is a word to the wise. Continue reading “A Word to the Wise”
