Sexual Identity

Sexual identity is not something I might have put on this list a generation or two ago. People were generally considered male or female, with some very rare exceptions of physical nonconformity.

Today, sexual identity has become “fluid”. Children growing up today are told that innumerable sexual identities exist. Sexual identity has become of the primary identities a person can have. People don’t say, “I am a homosexual”, they say, “I am homosexual. That’s who I am.”

God sees us as more than our personal identities. He desires that we identify primarily as children of God.

Not many things are as innate as our sexual orientation, and not many things cause more personal angst and difficulty. But these things are not insurmountable issues for God. Following are the stories of many people who have wrestled with their sexual identity and how it fits into God’s purposes for them:
