In our over-sexualized society in which porn is at the fingertips of anyone with a computer, it has taken over the loves of thousands of people, even pastors (ex-pastors). Here is the story of one of them:
He grew up in the church, but he began to notice magazines in the check out aisles and was drawn to it at the age of 12. For the next nine (9) years, he was a slave to lust and pornography. All he did was play video games and view pornography on the computer, and the computer was his god and idol. But he was full of shame, and began to cry out to God because it came to control him. He went through courses and put filters on his computer. He would stay away for a time, but then he would fall back into it. He sought freedom from the pornography, but he wasn’t seeking God. Things changed when he got honest with himself and truly sought God.
Bri saw something when she was 8, and she became a porn addict as she grew older. She was ashamed. She put on a facade as a “great leader”,. but she thought everyone would think she was disgusting if they knew. She finally realized she needed to come clean. What happened next, she couldn’t have imagined.
Jon was exposed to porn at 14 and became addicted to porn when it became accessible to him at the age of 17. He was addicted to it for 14 years. Jon tried to put it behind him when he met is future wife, but he couldn’t. He finally get honest with himself and confessed the addiction to his wife. That is when God showed up and took over!
Jason Casto was a reality TV star on American Idol. Things were going great, but he had a secret porn addiction, and his secret was overcoming him. He couldn’t escape it. It got to be too much, and it began to affect his young marriage. Over a weekend retreat, he began to gain hope as he heard the testimonies of other people. He eventually came clean with his wife about everything. He thought it was too dirty and too dark, but he took the step and started trusting God.
